Last Sunday, May 25th, we celebrated with great excitement the 13th edition of our charity race, Fun Run PortAventura World, organized by the PortAventura Foundation. Thanks to the participation of more than 1,700 people and the support of many collaborating organizations, we raised €22,470, which we will allocate entirely to social projects.

This year, the funds raised will support the work of the Soñar Despierto Foundation, the Diagrama Foundation, and our own Dreams Village program, a unique space where we welcome children with serious illnesses and their families for a magical experience.


Throughout the day, we enjoyed moments full of sport, commitment, and fun.
The 5K and 10K races kicked off the day, followed by the endearing Fun Run Kids. We also organized activities for all ages and were able to count on the collaboration of charitable companies, volunteers, and many others who made it all possible.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who took part in this edition: participants, volunteers, collaborators, friends.
Without you, none of this would be possible. Every step counts, and together we’ve once again proven that running for a good cause leaves a lasting mark.

The 12th Solidarity Race of the PortAventura Foundation was held on May 26, 2024, at the PortAventura World facilities.

The funds raised from this race will go to the Comunitat Sant’Egidio and Aspercamp – Associació Asperger-TEA del Camp de Tarragona.

"FUN RUN" AND "FUN WALK" RACES

Fun Run
· 5 km route (1 lap around the circuit). – See circuit –
· 10 km route (2 laps around the circuit). – See circuit –
· Competitive and timed test.
· Minimum age to participate: 12 years.

Fun Walk
· 5 km route (1 lap around the circuit).
· Not competitive or timed.
· Children registered for the Kids Run will be able to participate in the Fun Walk accompanied by their guardian..

Kids Run
· Boys and girls between 4 and 12 years old.
· For safety reasons, the participation of tutors or adults is prohibited during the race.
· Not competitive or timed.
· All participants will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line.

CUTTING TIME

The time limit to complete the circuit, both the “Fun Run” and the “Fun Walk”, is 60 minutes.

Participants in the 10 km who pass out of time at km 5 or km 6 will not be able to complete the second lap.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Registration and participation in this charitable sporting event, the “Fun Run PortAventura World”, does not entitle you to spend the day in the park.

Rules

1.1.- The PortAventura Foundation will organize the 12th edition of the “Fun Run PortAventura World” sports event on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

1.2.- The event includes a race.

1.3.- FUN RUN and FUN WALK on foot, Kids Run, and Zumba.

1.4.- The sports event is charitable, and the proceeds will be donated to two charitable organizations.

1.5.- The technical management of the sports event will be handled by Athletic Events S.L., which will also be responsible for the timing system using bibs with chips in the 5 km and 10 km races.

1.6.- The registration period for the “Fun Run PortAventura World” will be from February 1, 2024, until May 23, 2024, at 1 PM or until the maximum number of participants, 1,500, is reached.

1.7.- Registrations will be made through the website https://www.athleticevents.net/cursa/xii-fun-run-portaventura-443.

2.1.- The sports event will take place at the PortAventura World theme park.

2.2.- The “Fun Run” race will have a 5 km course (1 lap of the circuit) and another 10 km course (2 laps of the circuit).

2.3.- The “Fun Walk” will have a 5 km course and will not be competitive or timed.

2.4.- The minimum age to participate in the “Fun Run” is 12 years old, meaning all those born up to 2012.

2.5.- Children under 12 or born in 2012 or later can participate in the “Kids Run” races and/or the “Fun Walk” accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

2.6.- In the case of minors, the legal guardian must explicitly authorize the minor in the mandatory field of the registration form and indicate the name, surname, and ID of the adult authorizing.

2.7.- The “Fun Run” race will start at 9:00 AM.

2.8.- The “Fun Walk” will start at 9:02 AM after all the participants of the “Fun Run” have set off.

2.9.- Bib number collection will be done at the following location and times:

Athletic Events Store (Passatge Xavier Montsalvatge, 9-B, L. 2, Tarragona):
o Friday, May 24: from 11 AM to 7 PM
o Saturday, May 25: from 10 AM to 2:30 PM

PortAventura Dreams Village:
o Sunday, May 26: from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM

2.10.- To collect the bib numbers, you must present your ID/NIE and the registration receipt.

2.11.- You are allowed to collect bib numbers for other participants as long as you present a photocopy of their ID/NIE and the corresponding registration receipt.

2.12.- Important! Registration and participation in this charitable sports event, the “Fun Run PortAventura World,” do not grant the right to spend the day in the Park.

3.1.- The maximum time to complete the course for both the “Fun Run” and the “Fun Walk” is 60 minutes.

3.2.- Event staff will monitor the cut-off times and control points to ensure that no participant remains inside the PortAventura World theme park facilities at 10:00 AM, which is the park’s opening time.

3.3.- There will be a control area in front of the North Station in the Mediterrània area. Any participant who reaches this control point after 9:40 AM for walkers and 9:45 AM for runners will be directly diverted to the Far West area.

3.4.- By registering for the event, the participant takes responsibility for being in the physical condition required to complete the distance within the cut-off time. If the cut-off time is not met during the event, the participant agrees, upon registration, to follow an alternative route to the official course to reach the finish line, ensuring no participants remain inside the park at 10:00 AM.

4.1.- The non-competitive “Kids Run” races will take place in front of PortAventura Dreams Village on the same day, May 26, 2024, starting at 10:30 AM.

4.2.- The minimum age to participate in the “Kids Run” is 3 years, and the maximum age is 12 years.

4.3.- There will be three races of varying distances based on the age of the participants:

      • Race 1 of 300 meters: children aged 3 to 5 years (born from 2019 to 2021).
      • Race 2 of 600 meters: children aged 6 to 8 years (born from 2016 to 2018).
      • Race 3 of 900 meters: children aged 9 to 12 years (born from 2012 to 2015).

4.4.- In the 300-meter race, parents or legal guardians will be allowed to accompany the children.

5.1.- To participate in the different categories organized within the framework of the sports event, it is mandatory to complete the corresponding registration. If the registration process is successfully completed, each participant will receive a confirmation email, which must be presented along with their ID/NIE when collecting the bib number. If the confirmation email is not received, it can be requested at info.athleticevents@gmail.com.

5.2.- Registration is personal and non-transferable, and the sale or transfer of the bib number to third parties is not allowed.

5.3.- Once the registration is confirmed, the fee will not be refunded. Exceptionally, for justified reasons, participant or registration data changes may be made until May 22, 2024.

5.4.- In the event of the sports event being canceled due to force majeure, the registration fee will not be refunded, but participants will be entitled to collect the gift t-shirt and participant’s bag on May 24 and 25 at the designated bib number collection location mentioned earlier.

5.5.- All participants must wear the bib number visibly on their chest during the event.

5.6.- The organization declines all responsibility for the results of the timed event if the participant does not wear the bib with the chip in the specified location, as this could prevent the chip from being read and the finish time from being recorded.

5.7.- Each runner participates under their own responsibility, considering that they have the necessary physical condition to complete the race.

5.8.- By completing the registration, the participant accepts these regulations, authorizes the participation of minors indicated during the registration process, and commits to not starting ahead of time, completing the full course, and respecting the other participants and the event staff.

5.9.- Any situation not covered in the regulations will be subject to the organization’s decision.

5.10.- Anyone who violates any point of these regulations may be excluded from the official classification by the organization.

5.11.- The event’s medical service and the race’s technical staff may disqualify and remove any participant during the event who:

      • Shows signs of poor physical condition.
      • Does not complete the full course or the one indicated by the security staff.
      • Tampers with the bib number improperly.
      • Displays unsportsmanlike behavior or repeatedly complains to the organization beyond what is stipulated in these regulations.

6.1.- The results of the races will be available physically near the podium area of the event, as well as on the event website and the timing.

7.1.- Any claims must be submitted in writing to the Race Director and will only be accepted up to 30 minutes after the publication of the list of awardees for the race. The decision of the organization will be final.

8.1.- Gifts in the 5 km and 10 km races:

    • Trophies for the top three overall finishers, both male and female.
    • Trophies for the first male and first female employee of PortAventura World registered as such.
    • Trophy for the sports club with the most participants, combining both the race and the walk.
    • Trophy for the company with the most participants, combining both the race and the walk.
    • To score for a club or company, the name of the company or club must be indicated in the club section.
    • Individual prizes are non-cumulative.

8.2.- The gifts or prizes will be awarded at the podium area after the “Fun Run” as per the activity schedule published by the organization. Those who win prizes and do not collect their gift/prize during the awards ceremony will have 30 days to collect it from the Fundació PortAventura. After this period, the gift will no longer be available for collection.

9.1.- The organization, in compliance with the law, will take out Civil Liability insurance; therefore, it is not responsible for any physical/moral and/or material damages that may be caused to or by participants and spectators during this competition. The health status of each participant is their own responsibility for participation in the event.

9.2.- The organization will provide medical services at the race finish for any necessary medical attention for accidents or injuries that may occur during the event.

9.3.- Registration for the twelfth edition of the “Fun Run PortAventura World” sports event implies acceptance of this regulation and the transfer of image rights to be used by the organization, Fundació PortAventura, and Athletic Events S.L., the company responsible for technical management of the event, for advertising or any other purpose on social media, the event website, or any other medium without time limit.

The Sant Boi Hospital Association presents a project aimed at improving the emotional well-being of adolescents admitted for serious mental disorders. The proposal aims to humanize therapeutic spaces and incorporate non-pharmacological interventions, such as animal-assisted therapy, emotional regulation activities and spaces for therapeutic leisure and cognitive stimulation.

    The FunRun by Fundació PortAventura: Over 10 Years of Charity Runs in a World of Fun

    Since 2012, the Foundation has organized the FunRun, an annual event that has celebrated a decade of solidarity and commitment, becoming a tradition that combines fun, exercise, and helping those who need it most.
